This Privacy Policy explains what information InterviewAIQ ("we", "us") collects when you use our website, desktop application, and related services (the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

Account data: your email address and a hashed version of your password (we never store your password in plain text), email-verification status, and account activity such as credit purchases and session history.
Session context you provide: the company name, job description, and resume/background text you optionally enter when creating a session. This is used to ground AI suggestions.
Transcripts: the text transcription of sessions you run, labeled by speaker side. Transcripts are stored in your account so you can review and download them.
Screenshots you trigger: if you use the screenshot feature, the captured image is sent to our AI provider to generate a response. Screenshots are processed to answer your request and are not stored by us.
Payment data: payments are handled by third-party processors (such as Stripe, Razorpay, or PayPal). We receive transaction metadata (amount, status, an event ID) but never your full card number.
Usage and device data: log data, IP address, browser/app version, and website analytics collected via Google Analytics.

2. Audio Processing

During an active session, audio from your microphone and your device's system audio is streamed in real time to our speech-to-text providers (such as Deepgram or OpenAI) for transcription. We do not store raw audio recordings. Only the resulting text transcript is saved to your account.

You are responsible for obtaining any consent required by applicable recording laws before capturing audio of a conversation. See our Terms of Service.

3. How We Use Information

To provide the Service: transcription, AI answer generation grounded in your session context, session and credit management, and transcript storage.
To process payments and maintain an accurate credit ledger.
To send transactional email (verification, receipts) and respond to support requests.
To secure, debug, and improve the Service and to understand aggregate usage.
To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your resume, job descriptions, or transcripts for advertising.

4. Third-Party Processors

We share data with service providers only as needed to run the Service:

AI providers (e.g., OpenAI) receive transcribed questions, your session context (resume, job description, company), and screenshots you trigger, to generate responses.
Speech-to-text providers (e.g., Deepgram, OpenAI) receive live audio streams for transcription.
Payment processors (e.g., Stripe, Razorpay, PayPal) handle checkout and send us payment confirmations.
Hosting and infrastructure our backend and database are hosted with cloud providers (e.g., Render).
Analytics Google Analytics on our website.

Each provider processes data under its own terms and safeguards. Some providers may process data outside your country; where they do, we rely on their standard data-transfer safeguards.

5. Data Retention

Account data, transcripts, and session context are retained while your account is active. The credit ledger is retained as required for accounting and fraud prevention. You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time (see Section 6); we may retain limited records where the law requires it.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email us at saiart2754@gmail.com from your account email. We will respond within a reasonable period and in any event within the time required by applicable law.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures: passwords are stored hashed, traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), session launches use one-time tokens, and the credit ledger is append-only. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children

The Service is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date and, for material changes, make reasonable efforts to notify you.
